Parent Resources

Parents are the first teacher of their children, and often remain a teacher and mentor through the adult life of their offspring. Educational Synthesis recognizes the role parents have in educating their children whether they choose to send them to an institution of learning, or to homeschool them. Many of the resources offered for use by teachers are just as useful to parents.

Logo for My Own BooksPersonalized stories perfect for reading to children at bedtime and any other time a story is sought. Books can be printed and made into booklets for the beginning and advancing reader to enjoy on their own. Most books are related to instructional objectives, but some are about everyday events. In addition to filling in the child's name, some stories include the name of the parent (or teacher), a friend, the current season, and elected representative in government. The printed booklets make excellent small gifts.

Logo for Mrs. P's LinksLinks to Educational Synthesis content by academic subjects as well as links to other sites on the Internet related to academic subjects. These links will be of most interest for use with elementary and some middle schools students, as well as students at all levels of special education. Some links will be useful with high schools students. Resources include worksheets, manipulatives, lessons, games, graphics and more.

Logo for Famous AmericansLinks to summaries, pictures, and more information on some of the Famous Americans taught to K-12 student. The summaries are simple enough to use with primary students, and the list of resources after the summaries are invaluable to older students preparing reports. Some pages provide printable pictures to use in the classroom, frame as desired, or to color.
