Use soft margarine with the buttery taste you like best.
1/3 cup popcorn
2 tablespoon of soft margarine or butter
Put margarine then popcorn in a large microwave popcorn popper.
Put in microwave for 50 seconds at full power for the first batch, and about 45 seconds for subsequent batches.
Take out of microwave as soon as it goes off.
Salt, then pour popped corn into serving bowl.
