Fried Cheese

An hors d'oeuvre served hot in tomato sauce.

4 Servings



Mix crumbs with oregano and basil.

Cut cheese into 1 inch cubes.

Toss in flour.

Dip in egg.

Roll in crumb and herb mixture.

Refrigerate at least 30 minutes.

Heat 1 inch of peanut oil in electric skillet to 375F.

Fry cheese cubes quickly (about 30 seconds).

Serve with toothpicks in warmed tomato sauce.

Preparation time: 45 minutes.
