Franklin Delano Roosevelt

The New Deal

Franklin Roosevelt grew up in Hyde Park, New York.

He was born into a wealthy family and received a good education.

After college, Franklin became a politician.

Franklin Roosevelt was elected President during the depression.

His policy to get the country working again was called The New Deal.

The countries in Europe broke out into war.

The English and French wanted the United States to fight on their side.

 

Franklin Roosevelt did not want the United States to go to war.

Germany attacked American ships in the Atlantic Ocean.

Japan sank American ships in Hawaii.

Finally, Franklin Roosevelt signed the declarations of war.

He led the country to victory for the Allies during World War II.

The New Deal and the War pulled the country out of the depression.

Americans had jobs and sold their products around the world.

Franklin Roosevelt was elected president four times.

Franklin Roosevelt died during his last term in office.
