Noah Webster was born in Connecticut and graduated from Yale College.

Noah Webster was concerned that American children had no textbooks in schools.

He wanted American children to learn English before learning Latin or Greek.

Noah Webster wrote the first American textbooks for spelling and grammar.

His first spelling book became known as the "Blue Backed Speller".

Noah Webster wanted to organize American English into common grammar and spelling.

Noah Webster wrote the first Dictionary with American spellings of words.
