Following a long Indian Summer here in Virginia, we are finally starting to get cold weather. The plants are inside and I'm looking forward to the first snowflake.

Learning Objectives I continue to take a few minutes every now and then, to put the SOLs into a pretty format and include links to appropriate content on the ES website and elsewhere. Most of the English objectives are completed, and some of the science objectives have gotten some recent attention.
My Own Books logo

The long-delayed book Ride With Teddy Roosevelt is now finished and ready for your students to read and enjoy. The new story is in the History Hat collection. In this story, the Reader goes on a famous ride with the 20th president to help prove that a long horse ride was not too much to expect from military officers who were fit for duty.

Biology Link Under the Biology logo is the new Plant Animal Sort game for which students print out a set of plant and animal pictures tiles, and sort them by category.
Animals Link

The Animals subcategory has some new and interesting resources in it. Animal Picture Tiles is a collection of color pictures of more than 50 animals. These tiles can be sorted into various categories for animal types, kingdoms, physical characteristics, appendages, locomotion, breathing, reproduction, and more. The tiles can also be printed and pasted onto reports and projects. The Color Animals pages feature more than 20 animal pictures to color.

Humans Link The Humans category under Biology is also new this month. The first resource added to the category is the Colors of Humans activity, for the primary students. Next are the pages on Hominids and Early Man, and human fossils for Australopithecines, Homo Habilis, Homo Erectus and Homo Sapiens.
Holidays Link

The page for December Holidays is in place and features pictures and links for a variety of holidays celebrated in December.

Long Live Lively Learning, Y'all!!!
