World Peace

United Nations Building in New York CityThe United Nations Building is an important building in New York City. It is where the leaders of all the nations in the world come together to make peace. The national leaders make peace by discussing how to share resources. 

Children around the world want Peace.

Social Studies: Discuss current world events and help students understand the role of the United Nations in promoting World Peace. Use a world map to point out places in the News. View the Cyberschool Pictures For Peace. Locate the countries of the artists on a map or globe. Discuss what the artists are expressing. Invite students to express their thoughts on Word Peace. They may do so by creating a picture or poster showing how they visualize peace. Students should then dictate or type the meaning of their picture. Send pictures and descriptions to The Zman Project.
