Database Project

Create a database of information on a number of countries. Your teacher may set the number or countries, or assign countries for you to put in your database.

Step 1: Set up a database in Excel (or another spreadsheet or database program). Starting with the second column, the a name a country in each column. In the first column, label a line for each of the following:

• Country name (this should be on the line where you inserted the country names.
• Total Land area
• Total Population
• Type of Government
• Exports
• Imports
• GDP (Gross Domestic Product) – Per Capita
• Suffrage
• Literacy
• Religions
• Climate
• Terrain

Step 2: use the CIA Factbook online to find the information for your database. http://www.cia.gov/cia/publications/factbook/

Step 3: Use multitasking to enter the information from the CIA Factbook to your Database. Save regularly.

Step 4: When complete, print out your database. Scotch tape pages together as needed.

Step 5: Give to your teacher to be graded.
