Harriet Tubman

Harriet Tubman was born a slave on a plantation in Maryland.
She was treated badly and got a dent in her head from slavery.
Harriet Tubman escaped to the north where slaves were free.
Later, she returned to the south to lead many other slaves north to freedom.
Harriet Tubman was a nurse and a spy who helped the Union win the Civil War.
After the war was over, Harriet Tubman worked for the rights of women.
Harriet Tubman was 93 years old when she died.
